Coach Black graduated from Mount Pleasant High School in 1983. She played varsity golf for MPHS from 1979 - 1983 and the team qualified for State in 4A in 1983. Coach Black graduated from Texas Tech University in 1987 with a B.A. in English. In 1993 she received a M.ED from West Texas A&M in Reading Specialist. Coach Black taught in Amarillo for 11 years before coming to Frisco High. She is beginning her 7th year of coaching. She has been to the State finals twice as a golf coach. Mary is single with no children. Her extended family reside in Texas, as well. Her hobbies include reading, knitting and watching TV. Coach Black teaches creative writing and Read 180 at FHS. She is in her 11th year at FHS and 24th year as an educator.

Coach Coker's hometown is Durant, OK. He graduated from Southeastern Oklahoma State University in 1983 with a BS in Accounting and Business Administration. Prior to becoming a teacher/coach he was an accountant. Since receiving his first degree, Coach Coker has returned to school to graduate with a BA in Physical Education and History, and more recently a Masters in Education Administration. He also recently became certified as a Principal in Texas. Coach Coker teaches Business Management, Business Law and Business Ethics at FHS. He is married with three children. Coach is starting his 5th year at FHS and is in his 18th year in education.
Coach Coker is the assistant golf coach and works with the morning golfers.
